Filming begins for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Filming for the adaptation of Seth Grahame Smith’s bestselling horror- comedy novel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, began in Frensham Pond, Surrey this week. Directed by Burr Steers, the film boasts a star-studded cast, featuring Dr. Who’s Matt Smith, Downton Abbey’s Lily James as ElizabethBennetand Great Expectations’ Douglas Booth.
The 2009 novel, which sold over 1.5 million copies, adapts Jane Austen’s classic tale with a scary twist; the characters face new challenges in the gruesome form of a zombie army.
Award-nominee David O. Russell, who was behind Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, has written the screenplay adaptation.
The film is due to be released in 2015.
